Pension reform: 3.5% employer contribution from August

The new stage of pension contributions requires a review of payslips and contribution payments.

The development

The Superintendence of Pensions states that, from wages for August 2026, employers must declare and pay a contribution of 3.5% of an affiliated employee's pensionable earnings.

The contribution forms part of the gradual implementation of pension reform. Its allocation and exceptions must be reviewed under the applicable regime.

Why it matters

HR and accounting teams should compare payslips with payroll system settings and pension declarations to avoid improper charges or deductions.
