REDEC: CMF consults on changes to information and debtor requests

The proposal seeks to improve identification of reporting entities and the handling of corrections.

Draft regulation under consultation until 18 November 2026. The proposed changes are not yet a final rule.

The development

On 21 October, the CMF opened a consultation on amendments to General Rule No. 540 and the Consolidated Debt Register Manual.

It proposes clarifying the handling of requests to update, correct, supplement and cancel information; disclosing reporting entities' brands and trading names; and adjusting reporting requirements and rules for credit advisers.

Practical significance

Affected entities can assess system changes and submit comments. For debtors, the proposal would make it easier to identify who reports their obligations and track requests. Application depends on the final text and its deadlines.
